Anyone will have no difficulty in finding this beautiful town on the map of Germany. Berlin is the news maker, the center of attraction under the spotlight. It has established a reputable name for almost a century now. No wonder, people from all over the world recognize Berlin.
Berlin lies on the northeastern part of Germany and houses approximately four million people. It is the busiest city where all business transactions are conducted. Although the city is already industrialized, a third part of it is still allotted for parks, waterways, and woodlands. Its rich heritage is reflected on the main tourist attractions like the theaters, Berlin Wall site, and museums. But the most sought after places here are the ball halls and restaurants that serve the finest gourmet dishes and wine.
Large and busy as it may seem, Berlin is renowned for its organized boulevards and streets. At the same time, it has the most conducive system of public transportation. It is also worth mentioning that the city occupies approximately 890 square kilometers, which makes it four times bigger than Paris. It is a showcase of shopping malls, parks, and boroughs.

If you have not yet heard of this place before, we share the same sentiment. But the moment I learned of Schleswig, I found out that this German state is worth taking note of. The first time I heard of its name, I was literally compelled to grab a German political map and confirm the location of the state.
Schleswig is bound by Denmark, the Baltic, Hamburg, and North Sea. It occupies 15,763 square kilometers of land area. The geography of the state consists of marshlands formed by coastal sediments, thus providing Schleswig-Holstein with very rich soils. Also, there are moorlands, commonly known as Geest, that serves as spine betwixt the hills and the marshlands. It is made of sand deposits and moraines. Bogs are likewise to be found in here. Moreover, history has it that the hilly part of the state was formed during the meltdown of ice.
The long coastlines/boundaries of the state serve as its protection against flood. At the same time, the bodies of water that surround and flow in and out of the state provide natural irrigation to farms and sufficient supply of fish products. Meanwhile, the wildlife diversities in the state has already recorded endangered bird species.

I am sure that travelers that regularly tour around Germany is already acquainted with the code STR. This airport code stands for Stuttgart, the German city that houses one of the important airports in the country. Hey, in case you want to experience a first class airplane services, then go to Stuttgart. But, remember, only passengers from the US, New Zealand, Canada, Australia, Japan, Switzerland, European Union, or Poland will be allowed to travel to Stuttgart without the hassle of visa. If your country is an exemption to the rule, then I suggest that you must have your visa several days prior your trip.
The city of Stuttgart is located on the southern part of Germany. World-renowned for its production of Mercedes Benz cars, it has become a major tourism spot of the country. I wonder if we can spot car tests on the countryside roads. The industrial stability of Stuttgart does not gravely affect the natural beauty of the Stuttgart. In fact, the production of machineries and cars (which are also exported to other European countries) helped the people maintain their city. Almost half of the 630,000 population of Stuttgart work for the industry. On the other hand, the residents that occupy the inner parts of Stuttgart are the ones responsible for maintaining the charm of the countryside. The land formations are dominated by steeps while the valley where Stuttgart rests is being nourished by the river Neckar. As expected, there are lush vineyards on the northeastern part of Stuttgart. These are being sustained by the cold weather.

More wines! Where to find? In Rhineland, where else? But, did you know that before Rhine became renowned for its best red wines the city was actually bombarded during the war times. Just imagine the vineyards being set on fire while the soldiers march on. Anyway, that was along time ago, and should you pay a visit to Rhine, you will transformed in another world.
By the way, Rhine is the place to be for Grand Prix fanatics. Now, I bet you have an idea why the winner is being splashed by wine. Also, Rhine would be the perfect holiday destination for architecture enthusiasts. I heard that there are resplendent works of art there with the touch of Roman influence. On the other hand, the oldest town in Germany is found in Rhine. Tier is almost two centuries old and still preserves the ruins left by Roman settlements.
Well, to tell you honestly, unless you are a wine connoisseur, I bet you will never enjoy with just a day's stay in Rhine. Sure enough, it is a pleasant town. Still regarded as a countryside area, Rhine boasts of panoramic landscapes, of course, of vineyards. The region is dominated by steeps, castles, and clear rivers.

I still could remember how a fellow passenger exclaimed, "It sure looks like New York!" upon our arrival at Frankfurt. He must have been a Westerner like me. By the look of his face, I could tell that he was not that satisfied to learn that he will touring a modern Frankfurt. Yes, this well-known town in Germany is not what it looked like several years ago. Business has grown, so we are likely to see skyscrapers here. Also, the city is too busy to even ask a tourist if he is lost.
However, I did not really planned to go to Frankfurt to have a quiet time. I wanted to discover the hustle and bustle in this side of Europe. Germany is a very powerful and economically stable country. It just occurred to me that each city in Germany is responsible for this huge success. Based on what I have seen in Frankfurt, my guess was right.
Frankfurt has already turned into a modern city. But, to my amazement, relics and historical monuments of the distant past are still maintained here. There were museums that showcase the works of famous painters and even feature the masterpieces of Goethe. But, unfortunately, I was not aware of the annual events, so I was not able to witness the musical festivals. Also, the government establishments still keep the memento left to them by the great Roman empire. Frankfurt is a fusion of German and Roman culture. Traces of the influences could be found in restaurants serving Italian dishes, Italian-based companies, and Roman immigrants.

The first time I learned of the travel package to Thuringia, I was a bit excited since the traveling agency actually gave me the permission, and option, to tour the place by bike. I took the chance, and the for the very first time, I traveled to a German city wearing only shorts, white shirt, my cycling gears on, and a rented bike. I really enjoyed it.
Thuringia is just 16 square kilometers, and it will be very impractical to travel by car if your goal is to discover the beauty of the city. As for me, I went there to get closer to nature. Just like with other German cities, Thuringia has castles where Eschenbach and protestant leader Luther lived. Also, although the city is almost 400 years old, its demography has not increased that much. Some three million people live in here, and most of them are dedicated with farming.
Among the famous places in Thuringia are Weimar and Namburg. Weimar has a great participation in the rich German history and culture since it is associated with some of the famous poets and artists like Schiller, Nietzsche, and Goethe. Also, Weimar was the seat of the Republik following the first World War. At the same time, concentration camps were built in this place. The grounds where these death chambers were built are already covered with vast woodlands. On the other hand, Namburg is the sacred place where magnificent cathedrals are built to remind the people of the strong faith German people has. They were built by medieval architects while the sculptures inside the cathedrals were the fruits of the labors of German artists.

This city in Deutsche land might seem sweet-smelling, but in reality, it is breathtaking. Cologne owns the principal airports in Bonn. Here, daily shipments are being held, thus making Cologne a prime factor in the German industry. On the other hand, the industrialization of the entire city has little effects on the sheer beauty that this enchanted piece of German land possesses.
If you look at the map, Cologne is located at the eastern part of Greenwich. It is 15,731 square kilometers wide and houses three million people. The whole city is regarded as a business district. The airports, as what has been said a while ago, is the center of industry. Alongside the very typical business purposes of the airplanes, the passenger planes are incomparable with other German airplanes. Cologne possesses the most coveted airline services with the addition of financial assistance to its businessmen passengers who are always on the rush for their appointments. Also, the airports are boasting with restaurants that serve excellent gourmet coffee and delicious dishes.
The weather in Cologne is very favorable. You can walk down the street wearing casual dress, but expect people to dress according to their professions. Business people could be seen wearing coats while students wear casual dress. I will not be surprised to see a tourist walking in Cologne jeans and shirts.

The month of October reminds me of Munich. Why? Come on, Munich is the place to be for the most coveted grand beer festival. Hey, do not get drunk. There is to Munich than beer. The city is actually among the oldest in France with its history being molded for almost 800 years now, and Munich continues to fascinate us.
The most apparent establishment in Munich are grand museums of all kinds. There are museums for movies, science, industry, theater, nature, art, and even for Valentine's. After the tiring tour at these museums, you can rest for a while in the beautiful gardens in the city. By the way, did you know that most people here walk in the park naked? Well, not all of them, but some really do. I wonder if they do that for a purpose. Anyway, there are cafes in the lake shore that serves the best gourmet coffee.
On some parts of the city, castles still exist. These are open for public viewing. Also, traces of the past wars could be seen in the old churches in Munich. By the way, the whole town occupies a mere 300 square kilometers and has a population of not more than 1,300,000 people that enjoys cold winter and hot summer. The weathers can reach their extremes, but the people have managed to adjust to them.

Germany is situated in Central Europe between Poland and Netherlands. It borders the North Sea and the Baltic Sea. It occupies a total of 137,822.640 square miles land area. Germany holds the sixth place among the largest countries in Europe – not bad for a well established, industrialized nation.
The country is divided into two major parts. Compared to the western part, the eastern division occupies the third part of Germany and houses the fifth part of the population. Back then, before the unification, Bonn was the capital of Germany. After a series of debates, it was changed into Berlin.
In the world map, Germany looks like a piece of land with indefinite curvatures. It is rich with lakes, marshes, rivers, valleys, and streams. The topography of Germany is mainly made up of hills, plateaus, and mountain ranges with vast forests. Geographers prefer to divide modern German country into four major regions. They classified them as the Lowland, the Upland, the Southern part, and the Foreland or also known as Alps. While Germany is covered with woodlands, the temperature is cool. It experiences a long period of rainfall.

Finding your way through a crowded city is bad enough, but what about getting lost in a foreign country? Uh-oh. Not good, indeed. There are so many things that could possibly happen when you or someone you know gets lost and it is such a burden to be carrying those thoughts and worries in your head when you are not armed with anything helpful. That is why it is essential to always have a map with you when you travel.
If you are preparing for a trip to Germany, there are maps made for individuals who like to explore the each of the numerous German cities and regions, and those who want to have details of the entire country. If it is your first time leaving for Germany, it is best to avail of the Michelin map, which illustrates the entire Germany. If you plan to head Midwest into this European country, there is Michelin map that is perfect for journeying to the cities of Frankfurt, Saarbrucken, Hannover, and Dusseldorf. Tourists who have rented their own car transportation while staying in Germany can also use road maps, such as the Michelin Southeast map. What is good about this particular drawing is that it includes the secondary access roads in addition to the main streets and highways in the region.
