Come October 31st, Germany will celebrate the 489th anniversary of Reformation Day. The said holiday is in commemoration of the posting of Doctor Martin Luther of 95 theses Wittenberg's Church Castle's portals. This movement triggered Reformation. The sacramental color on this date is red. It is symbolizes the Holy Ghost that descended on the followers of Christ.
An important holiday, Reformation celebration reminds us that the Holy Ghost will bring us salvation. This is contrary to the belief that we should work on our own salvation by doing good deeds. However we look at the reformists' beliefs, the bottom line is that they believe that Christ is our redeemer and that He was born of the Virgin Mary, He suffered and died for our sins, and He lived again. According to the reformists, this news brings hope to Christians.
This holiday is celebrated through prayers and activities such as reading Scriptures, chanting of Psalms, a re-enactment of the historical event, creating cathedral models, and even putting up booths that feature Reformation history-based activities. At night, the participants of the holiday are dressed like reformists while the ringing of the church bells add to the Reformist atmosphere.

Just where is the prefect place to go on a holiday travel during October? It is Germany, of course. For fifteen years now, Germany has been celebrating the Unity day every third day October. The said holiday is the commemoration of the unification of the east and west Germany that followed after the destruction of the sturdy Berlin wall. This special holiday is probably the most serene and grandest of all the holidays in Germany. It is during this day that Germans gather together not only to commemorate the unification, but to spread the message of oneness.
Last year, Germany thanked the United States for their undying support to the Deutsch land. Messages of peace, thanksgiving, and honor are given by the various government officials who participate in the celebration. But, the speech delivered by the Minister President really captured my attention. His speech was not only a call for unity, but for respect to all the heroes who fought and died for the unification of Germany. He clearly expressed his gratitude to all the democratic nations who taught them just what it means to be free. At the same moment, the orchestra played their symphony that added yet dramatic effect to the program.

Apart from being the home of the then powerful Nazis, there is so more that Germany has to offer to its guests. I have been there once and I believe it is an ideal place for a perfect honeymoon holiday. But one thing that amazed when I broke there not so long ago, me is it boating holiday in the countryside.
There are various boating locations in Germany that will surely make your holiday vacation truly memorable. There are many fishing and boating companies that will help you in all your needs. Choose the one which you think will serve you best. At 1000 lakes, as the name suggests, there are also a thousand possibilities. The area of Mecklenburg Lakeland is home to some of 1000 lakes that includes Germany's biggest lake, Lake Muritz.
Here I tried some water sports, canoe, a trip aboard a motor yacht, houseboat, and sailing boat among others. Other boating destinations include Muritz National Park, Mecklenburg Switzerland, and Schwerin Lake to name a few. There are only some of the many countryside areas in Germany where you can spend your holidays on fishing and other leisure activities.

Besides Christmas, the most important holiday observed in Germany is Ostern. Ostern is the celebration of the resurrection of Christ three days after being crucified. It is a time of merriment and families hold gatherings and feast on an Easter meal together. Just like in western countries, Ostern features familiar figures that are connected to Easter like the Easter Bunny and Easter Eggs. Christianity is the major religion in Germany so this holiday is an important and sacred time for the Germans.
Usually, the children are engaged in an Easter egg hunt after enjoying hearty meals with their family. There are occasions where children roll colored eggs down grassy slopes or try to knock the pointed end of the eggs together. The child whose egg is not broken wins and gets the shattered eggs as prize. The family would then get to enjoy feasting on hard-boiled eggs for weeks later. Many families also go out for a relaxing Easter walk in the afternoon. Several towns in Bavaria light the Easter Fire at the crack of dawn to signify the beginning of Ostern. People use the flame to light their candles as they proceed to the church. The fire is the symbol of the triumph of life over death

When you mention the word “Thanksgiving”, most people would paint an image of a roasted turkey in the middle of the dinner table with cranberry sauce on the side being enjoyed by an American family. Well, the United States isn’t the only country that has a thanksgiving holiday. Germany is one of the countries in the world to celebrate a thanksgiving holiday. If America has the Thanksgiving, Germany has their Erntedankfest.
Literally translated, Erntedankfest means “Harvest Thanksgiving Day.” This national holiday is celebrated on the first Sunday of October, which is a week after the end of the harvest season. Throughout the country, different villages mark this day by offering colorful fruits, vegetables, and grains before the altar to symbolize their gratitude to God for a bountiful harvest. After the offering custom, the fresh produce may then be given to the less fortunate. Hey, the end of harvest should be a festive occasion for everybody. Different villages from Germany celebrate the Erntedankfest in their own way but, typically include dances, games, and parades. In wine producing areas, the celebration starts when the last grapes have been picked. In the Alpine regions, decorated oxen bring the harvested grains to the barn.

Do you know that Germany is one of the cheapest shopping spots all over Europe? Don't get intimidated with the Euro thing, Germany is a shopping haven. They have all the stores, with very reasonable prices, you'll be surprised with good finds and good buys! Even the hotel rates and restaurants are alot cheaper than all the other European destinations, the German local products cater to everyone, for the locals, and for the tourists.
If you're staying in Germany for a long period of time, the German supermarkets are very reasonable, from the chocolates, to the coffee products, toiletries, and wine, and they're all good, believe me. So, don't you worry about your budget tight , you can have fun in Germany, have an adventure, see Germany's wonderful attractions, and shop til' you drop!

Mecklenburg and Brandenburg are a few of the ,a href="http://www.travel-spain-tourism.com/archives/21-Mezquita-The-Great-Mosque-in-Cordoba.html">many beautiful regions in Germany. They have the most magnificent waterways for boating holidays. There are lakes and canals perfect for barge trips and fishing. Along the canals, you can view the ancient castles and small picturesque towns over the clear blue water of Germany's waterways.
You can taste Germany's specialty fish dishes and see the natural wildlife around these magnificent canals. So, if you're wondering which holiday vacation to take, the barge trip is the ideal trip for you.
